Power Rankings - ZOMG! GREAT GAMES! - Seeker
A lot of great games this week, and overall nice play from a lot of the top teams makes this week’s power rankings hard to figure out. There is also going to be some parity at the top, meaning that potentially the difference between #2 and #6 might be minor.

I went with an unusual choice for the #11 spot, but I feel the team in question merited the choice considering how they choose to approach the tournament.

25. Dwarven Mafia: They had 2 people on against NFDF but rather than play they chickened out and chose the path of the forfeit.

Nice job guys.

24. The Furious Gypos: Even though they got eliminated before DM they actually put some effort into the tournament.

23. Marmotas Assassins: Undermanned at the end, also facing an undermanned AGE team. They still managed to get donged.

22. Order of the Serpentine – Autumn Demon is like Will on TFS – except he takes more units and does less damage with them.

21. TuF – A plucky team… who got owned by TFS. I think Elfoid wanted me to mention something that he imed me about but I forgot about it.

20.  Gru – Not even Powrup could save them from the donging they received from an undermanned Tnam squad. C’mon guys, getting maxed out in a game when one of the 3 players in the game is Seeker?!?!! I mean this isn’t even the skilled Seeker who played in mwc04 with bastards, but the sucky Ancrik one. Awful…

19.  Order of H’Pak – They gave an excellent effort against NP which deserves to be rewarded, and which indeed shall be rewarded with the #19 spot.

18.  EICW – Capturing one game from a rather awful Poop squad (by usual poop standards) merits them rank #18. Unlike the teams below them on the list, they actually won a game in their final match.

17. Tank Clan – Took a game from GC, and overall didn’t have a bad tournament. Kudos!

16. TFS – Behind AGE, only because I feel Tnam is better than present NFDF. They played well against TuF, but got smacked by NFDF proving that even with Will they aren’t good enough to make it into the later stages of the tournament. Still, they had their best run yet in MWC.

15. AGE – Played well against BME. Beat down an undermanned MA team to prove once and for all that they are now a decent team in Myth. Then they go and get crushed by Tnam to lose some credibility in this space. However, since I feel Tnam is a better team than NFDF this year (bias), I’ll give them the 15 spot over TFS.

14. BMW – Restored some credibility with a strong showing against Autumn Demon, and then a good match with GC.

In order to represent the gap between 14 and 13 I decided to space out the column a bit.

13. GC – In reality they deserve #12, however I decided to give a team that truly fucked up the #11 space.  Still the same team as before, good teamwork smart gameplay but can be exploited through their lack of micro skills.

Still, their seeding has worked out favorably for them giving them a winnable game against DET.

12. NFDF – Proved that even though they might have stepped down a notch this year, they still are a good team through their dominating win over TFS.

The ICBM spot… and this week’s choice goes to:

11. Shit Vegetables: Ok, you know NP is only going to show up with 4 people. You know you have a good shot at beating them if you can get 6-7 people to show up.

Yet you start the match at a disadvantage and finally gain a numbers advantage at the end, when the match is pretty much already decided. Even worse, with a numbers advantage you still manage to get donged.

Strip the 4 trows away posthumously users. DO IT! DO IT NOW!

10. Tnam – They bounced back last week and played their best match of the tournament against AGE.

Unfortunately the teams ahead of them have accomplished more… Match against TWF will be closer than many think.

9. LRCG – Eventually the loss of the great Timmah will catch up to them. This is the week where it has…

8. THOR – PLACID2 IS AN ITCH THAT MUST BE SCRATCHED. SPRAY PAINT THINNER ON HIM THEN PLASTER HIM ON CARPET. FINALLY DOUSE CARPET WITH GAS AND LIGHT ON FIRE. THIS WILL QUIET PLACID2 SO YOU CAN HAVE PLEASING SOUNDS ON VENT!

7. SL – Pretty much out-bced Tcox in their match. However, their inability to play game types cost them. It looks like if they get nem and sam plus gorbochevie on at the same time they have a fearsome starting rotation of players.

Actually if they don’t get those players on for NP, they are going to be cornholed.

6. TWF – As expected, they gave BME a good match. Now, they have to control any possible egos which might inflate because their next match is going to be tough.

Actually, that whole bottom side bracket is tougher than the other bottom bracket side.

3-5 are all very close, 5 could easily have been 3 and vice versa. Please make note of this before whining.

5. Elephriends – They would have won against DET 4-1 if Adren didn’t lag out but that’s how it goes… Still, the games were fun to watch, and Ele won through displaying a clear edge in teamwork and skill verse Thor.

4. TCOX – Getting outbced by SL casts doubt on their prospects against BIA. Still, they won their match pretty decisively and every top team last week pretty much received some scare, so they won’t get downgraded.

3. NP – Apparently attendance issues are going to be cleared up going forward in the tournament. Still, the fact that they exist makes me think this team has a care factor of 0 and this could cost them eventually…

If they put it together, they’ll win the tournament IMHO.

2. BIA – Probably had the most definitive win out of any of the top teams. Still, there is that 4-1 result which makes me skeptical that they will ever get over the BME hump.

1. BME – BME didn’t stumble against TWF. It’s just that TWF was the toughest opponent any team could have drawn last round and they are the guys who drew them. If anyone wants to accuse me of pandering towards BME here, fine go ahead, just remember that I rated TWF pretty highly the previous 2 columns too.
