Power Rankings:

OH BOY!!! MWC first annual power rankings. This is a weekly listing of teams in order from best to worst based on performance, potential, and my own damn judgment.      

What did we find out from week 1? Not a damn thing because all the good teams played all the bad teams and the obvious outcomes happened.

I’ll try to watch 1/3 of matches each week so I can get in-depth comments on each team somewhere along the line.

RK TEAM High/Low COMMENT

1 NP       1/1         Completely outmatched an average team. They played the best competition of the elite teams, and because of that win they get the top spot this week.

2 T-Cox     2/2         7 Players showed up for the 05 CO-Champs kicking off 06 with a beat down of Companion Raiders. Expect the same next week vs EICW.

3 BME       3/3         Umm…. 7 BME vs 3 gru is more like a bye week then anything. Nothing to gather from that match.

4       BIA3      4/4         You have to play somebody to get into the top rankings, not BIA3’s fault, but life isn’t fair. They play ~S~ next week, that’s kind of like not playing anyone too.

5 Ele       5/5         I wonder if shai could have beaten The Furious Gypsies by himself? UF should pose a slightly tougher challenge.

6 NFD       6/6         There should be a blank space here instead of NFD just to show the gap between the teams above.They get to play their Japanese brethren in age next week after getting a no-show win.

7 sv        7/7         Easily dispatched of Bad in qr 1. They weren’t challenged by Bad, but they weren’t expected to be either. The match with TWF next week should be a good litmus test for both teams. The rumors of a tie breaker FFA game are unfounded.

8 TWF       8/8         TWF is showing up with a full cast; expect them to rise up the rankings. Match up with .sv. next week will really show if this team knocked off the rust.

9 DET       9/9         The rest of the team weren’t able to join SL so they randomed onto the Thor/X team. Won’t be challenged until they play Ele in week 3.

10 GC       10/10         Good win over EICW shows the disparaging gap between O.K. teams and bad teams. Companion Raiders won’t pose much of a threat vs them next week either.  

11 SL       11/11         Is this a random Trow Terries ranked game? They saw Thor and X team up and didn’t want to random onto their team. So they created SL. Oh right, they spanked a weak ~S~ team. Next week should be an interesting match vs LRCG.

12 LRCG     12/12         If they had as much talent as Myth Cool they would be a l33t team, but that’s not the case so expect them to stay around 10th . vs SL next week is one of the top matches to watch.

13 Tnme     13/13         Got to have a rabble cast of old schoolers in here somewhere. Got to shake the rust off and get continuity at the same time. Week 1 vs a no show won’t help.

14 TC       14/14         Played well enough to win against a stupid MA team. Could clinch a top bracket with a win over gru next week.

15 TFS      15/15         TFS are invincible and will not lose a set this whole tourney. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.  

16 BMW      16/16         Papa: ack, it’s NP…RUN AWAY
Unfortunately, running away was not an option so BMW put up a valiant but futile fight. They didn’t play that bad, just were outclassed.

17 age      17/17         They were outplayed by DM, but because DM had 25% of their units look at the pretty landscape instead of engaging in battle, age pulled out two slim victories.  

18 DM       18/18         OK guys, you outplayed age, but wtf is up with not having a clue towards the end of games. Also instead of the captain taking 20% of units, mb you should be directing people. You might be 1/0/0 instead of 0/0/1. Unless you guys get some coordination expect an early exit.  

19 C        19/19         Maybe they can regroup against GC next week after their loss to T-cox.

20 TuF      20/20         They went to battle with the mighty THOR, and felt his wrath.  

21 EICW     21/21         They needed to do better vs GC because they have no chance next week vs T-cox.

22 ~S~      22/22         Fear the “OOS” battle cry!!! O.k. maybe not, but it does confuse the other team. Blonde is still trying to figure out who went oos that game. They played better with 3 people then 7 people, that can’t be good.

23 Bad      23/23         Heh. They only had 5 people show up, and they didn’t put up much of a fight vs .sv. Don’t expect to see this team around much longer. BTW…wtf is up with this trend of bad teams’ captains taking most of the units  I guess that is why they are bad teams.

24 OoH      24/24         Lost to TFS in week one and play NP next week. It was nice knowing you guys.

25 MA       25/25         I have an idea, let’s rush our ghouls at the thrall Defense of the only flag left to touch while the warriors stand by and root the ghouls on. In the mean time the other team takes your last flag. They didn’t play badly the whole time, just in key situations. Ummm btw you better hope gru only shows up with 3 again in round 3 cause your toast next week against BME.

26 UM       26/26         Played a good TWF team and got their ass handed to them. Should have a better idea if their a  low tier team or a very low tier team after their match with BAD.

27 gru      27/27         Did you expect anything else after showing up against BME with only 3 players? Prince Pwn what the hell were you doing with your trow against 2 souls in the water on Trow Ass? 2 souls killed 1 green trow GOOD JOB!!!

28 Gypo     28/28         Slightly surprised this team showed up. Although they didn’t really SHOW up they were kind of just there. Expect more of the same vs DET next week.
