Review by SPiDER - Overview
These matches are really a 3.5, but I rounded up :)

EDIT: WOW!! SORRY ABOUT THE FORMATTING. I'm too lazy to learn how to do it right.

RMA goes up early here, while OoH valiantly battles back, but just comes up short.  Some of the play in this match was very entertaining to watch, and Mjilaphobia wasn't.

Pictures will follow shortly.
Game 1 - Flag Rally on Hvergelmir (light) x2
This game showed me that OoH has some GREAT team play ability.  It also showed me that Ascot is an angry, angry man.  His verbal onslaught of Clem during PT was vicious!

Anyway, the game.  Both teams opted for a 3 prong, keeping their two Thellpacks intact.  RMA to the west, OoH to the mid.  Zak, sensing the ensuing battle west, did a nice job shifting units between people to counter.  The downside, is that poor Frum to the east, who had a viable option to push, was left with 3 archers vs Slugman's 7.

The eastern battle was well fought between both teams. It was a good back and forth exchange until Frum finally lost his dwarf, leaving his flank open to the overpowering warriors of Slug and Belgianbonzai.

The western battle pitted Thells vs Thells, where unfortunately, Miltiades inability to multitask his Thellpack and puss allowed RMA to dispatch him, and forge ahead to the north flag rather easily.

So, what happened middle?  Not all that much.  Even after this* happened, i don't recall anyone ever crossing middle.  This match was won on the flanks, and by the superior unit handling skills of RMA.

Game 2 - Flag Rally on Hvergelmir (light) x2
Nothing makes a reviewer happier than teams that use different strategies on the same map!  Game 1 was closer than the score might indicate, so both captains feeling a little more confident decided on a rush. OoH to the west, RMA to the mid.

the midrush by RMA just plowed its way right through the very weak thrall-arch-1dwarf defense, and continued to terrorize the other 3 home flags. Within 5 minutes, RMA got their "Victory Imminent" and finished off the game a few minutes later.

OoH did manage to grab 6 flags due to their rush north, which didn't move nearly fast enough to give them a chance to win the game.
Game 3 - Body Count on Mjilaphobia
This game reminded me of the "Fortress of Doom" plug.  here's OoH on the well-fortified middle hill while RMA surrounds them on all sides.  RMA went up early while OoH scrambled to face their flanks, but the hill was just too much to contend with.

Not even RMA's Flying V could save them!

Or Ascot's angryness!
Game 4 - Capture the Flag on Calm Before the Storm
This game will be told from the Diary of Six Coyote Flower, a Heron Healer in the OoH Pink Army.

Day One:
We have come to face the RMA army adorned in their amazingly dull grey armor.  The ensuing battle shall take place on this snowy wasteland, right in the middle of some poor unsuspecting village.

We have thankfully been ordered to relieve the wights of their existence, however, i couldn't help but shake my head at Bruiser.  He's the more mentally challenged of our pet ghols, and has trouble distinguishing between the useful wight pieces and their heads.  We move out in the morning to engage the enemy.

Day Two:
Crap. Bruiser was assigned to my flank. No matter, our sheer numbers should be enough to overpower our enemy.  I watched as a few herons, and a gholpack blitzed past us, but followed my orders to utterly demolish the northern flank.  It should be clear sailing to the RMA encampment tomorrow morning.
6 kills today.

Day Three:
Surely General Zaknafein jests.  I can see the enemy base, half a day's march from here and we are DAYS from our fortress. Yet, i shall follow my orders as we begin the long march back.

Post Battle Edit: I should have considered treason.

minimap.pngAnyone else see the clear path to the flag?

Day Four:  We arrived to relieve the tired forces of Militades and Frumius.  Apparently, they have tirelessly held our southern flank versus the outnumbering forces of Ness and BB.  However, we too late. Our only defense is a handful of mindless thrall, and perhaps a warrior.  Nonetheless, Five Rabbit and I were charged with the task of eliminating 8 warriors and 5 archers.  It was glorious.  With every enemy dispatched, I could feel my nonstop hacking get faster and faster!
11 kills today.

Note to self: Sharpen blades

Day Five: some mysterious voice announced "Game Over" as we began to march out for the RMA flag again.  I wonder what that means...
Game 5 - Assassin on Ravaged Earth
WHAT A LET DOWN!  I WAITED THROUGH 3 GAMES OF ASCOT GOING NUTS OVER THIS MAP, AND HE DIDN"T EVEN PLAY!

I would have loved to see that.

Both teams opted for Gholpacks with puss, and a similiar assortment of archers, dwarves, and melee.  For the visually impaired, OoH made it a point to circle all of their own scarecrows on the overhead.

OoH got their Stygpack into the RMA backfield uncontested, and managed 7 Ass kills before meeting any real defense.

RMA also managed to get into the backfield with their ghols, but were easily taken care of with 4 puss as they clumped around their target (overkill)?

2-3.jpg1, 2, 3 puss. (first one popped)

4.jpg4 puss.

5.jpg5 puss.

In the final two minutes, RMA managed to snag 2 targets for themselves, not that it mattered with the match already in their possession.

good games fellas!
