No one has a chance, don't enter MWC! (sarcasm) - Gafgarion
Hmm... Notice a trend in the non-feature articles? I do. That trend is that tournement loving, no longer (or never) b.net regulars are writing rants about how no one except for people like gtm, Np, Cirque, Cacra, etc. are the only people that have a chance in MWC and no one else should bother playing.
Alright, lets make MWC an invitation only tourney... Lots of fun, eh? No... In fact a lot of the fun of MWC is seeing who will upset the predictions and blow everyone away.
It's happened in every tournement, there's some team that everyone thinks will get eliminated immediatly and then they go on into some of the final matches in the tourney.
I ask again, why is MWC not invitation only? That's because no matter how slim a chance a team has, they still have one. That's because there are a lot of stuck up people that have no clue about orders other than the big names. What I'd really love to see in a big tournement like MWC is a bunch of awesome players using 2nd accounts and newbie names, getting a 1 on threat rating and then win the tournement... I'd laugh so hard. It's obvious that there are a few teams this year that have Myth superstars on them under alternate names (overlooked teams that is)... But I have my doubts that they will do anything that I previously mentioned.

I think my prime point of stereotyping and underrating is Myrkridon's article "Myth the Real Man's Way".
The official description of Spotlight Match of the Week goes as follows, "Each week, I'll select a match that looks like it might be the most interesting, the most competitive, or produce the best films out of all the games played."
What part of those requirements does the FF vs. tfb match not meet? Both are active Myth orders with good Myth players that play competitivly and intellegently and are known for making Myth games unique and amazing.

I think I understand why a lot of people underrate teams... Because they don't have a high b.net rank. Look for yourself on the betting pool, betting by rank... Sad... Rank means nothing, it just means how much time you are willing to put in per day... It is not a reflection of skill. I've played Moons with userid's in the 60,000's that are only a moon because they play night and day... Their wins are usually by luck.
While I'm not saying that teams like gtm and people aren't good (they are for the most part, I assure you), what I am saying is that they aren't invincible and their rank does not prove that they will win MWC.

If you really want to measure a team's skill play on b.net a lot in a variety of games in unranked... Because I spend too much time on b.net and have played a multitude of orders or the 4+ years I've played Myth, I'm putting my money on Team Orleans, not on one of "juggernaut" orders. Why? Because I've played extensivly with them and against them, played in games with them where they have faught players from "juggernaut" orders and have done very well. I'm sure Np, 12 inch and others will go far in the tournement, but rule #1 is to not overlook anyone.

Gafgarion signing out. POOF!
